Here is a list of tools that might help you with your game - be it playing or umpiring. Some of the stuff were developed for Japan Cricket but others are general in nature and were collected from various other cricket related sites. Feel free to download and use them.
While there is no standard way of recording cricket scores in a scorebook, a widely accepted and internationally followed method is being followed in Japan.
Scoring Guide (PDF file) - A Getting Started Guide for everyone. It lists the preparations required by, tools needed for a scorer and of course, the correct scoring method and symbols to be used. Scoring Notes (MS Word file) - Here is yet another Scoring Note prepared by Judy Harris of Queensland Cricket & Cricket Australia scorer. Please note that in Japan we do note follow some of the notations that are used in this document such as a wicket(X), Wide(W), Leg bye(L) or Bye(B) nor do we encourage you to use those symbols. Instead we recommend you to use W for wicket, plus (+) for a wide, which is explained in the Scoring Guide above. Download>>

Umpire Analysis (MS Excel file) - This is Japan's own program. More specifically, Japan's Anton McCloy, a leading umpire in Japan, initiated a voluntary program in 2005 called Japan Cricket Umpire Improvement Program(JCUIP) through which he collects feedback from both umpires and captains of the rival teams. The feedback is then relayed back to the umpires so that they may improve their standards. Insurance details (MS Word file) - Tokyo-Kaijyo insurance company offers a variety of sports insurance. This document will give you some information in English that is applicable to cricket, such as the procedures to claim the insurance money, amount that can be claimed etc. Download >>
