Tests	One Day International
First tie - Aus vs. WI in 1960/61 series at Brisbane. West Indies(453 & 284). Australia(505 & 232). Lowest innings score - 26 by New Zealand against England at Auckland in 1954-55. M.L. Jaisimha, Ravi Shastri(both India), Geoff Boycott, Alan Lamb(both England) and Kim Hughes(Australia) have batted on all five days of a Test Match. Vijay Hazare and Don Bradman are the only captains to score a century in each innings of a Test match. First bowlers to bowl spin in a Test match are James Southerton (right arm off-spin) and James Lillywhite (left arm slow). They both appeared for England against Australia in the first ever Test match at Melbourne in March 1877.	First tie - Aus vs. WI on Feb. 11, 1984. First LBW decision with the help of a TV replay: 2002 Champions Trophy, Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan. Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik was ruled out LBW by umpire Darryl Harper after he consulted the TV umpire. As an experiment, during this tournament, the on filed umpire was allowed to consult the TV umpire to decide if the ball was pitched out side the leg stump or not and the height. 11 runs off one ball - In a match against Glamorgan on May 28, 2003, Ryan Sidebottom of Yorkshire bowled five wides and then his only legitimate delivery was hit for a six by Matthew Maynard.	Maravan Attapattu had a disastrous start to his career scoring only one run in his first 5 Test innings against India and Australia. Sachin Tendulkar was out first ball in his first two international matches and managed only 7 runs in his third. Sir Donald Bradman was out duck in his last Test innings. He needed only four runs to average 100 in Test matches.

Australia

• Lowest Test innings score - 36 vs. England (Birmingham, 1902)
• Allan Border has played the maximum no. of matches as a captain. He captained Australia in 93 matches(32 wins,22 losses,38 draws,1 tie)
• Ricky Ponting holds the record for playing the maximum no. of Test innings without a duck
• Shane Warne is the only spinner, apart from India's Anil Kumble, to have taken more than 300 Test wickets
• The duck which appears on TV when a batsman gets out without scoring a run is named 'DADDLES' and was first shown by Channel 9 of Australia
• Ian and Greg Chappel are the only brothers to score centuries in both innings
• Damien Fleming shares the record with Peter Petherick of taking a Hat-Trick on Test Debut
• The only player to score 150 plus runs in both innings of a Test is Allan Border of Australia. He scored (150 and 153) against Pakistan at Lahore

Bangladesh

• Lowest Test innings score - 90 vs. Sri Lanka (Colombo, 2001/02)
• Naimur Rahman is Bangladesh's first Test captain
• Bangladesh is the only non-Test playing nation to have hosted a Test match.(Pakistan v/s Sri Lanka... Asian Test Championship)

England

• Lowest Test innings score - 45 vs. Australia (Sydney, 1986/87)
• Dennis Amiss scored 103 runs (in 134 balls, 9 fours) against Australia at Manchester on 24-8-1972 - has the distinction of scoring the first ODI hundred
• The first batsman to be dismissed on 99 in a ODI was Geoffrey Boycott v/s Aus at Oval on 20-08-1980
• The first ball of One day International Cricket was faced by Geoffrey Boycott in 1971
• England has had the maximum no. of Test captains (73)
• John Edrich(82) for England v/s Aus on 05-01-1971 was the first person to score a half-century in ODI's

India

• Lowest Test innings score - 42 vs. England (Lord's, 1974)
• The first ODI was played in India on 25-11-1981 (It was India's 26th ODI)
• India played its first ODI on 13-01-1974 v/s England at Headingly , Leeds. Lost by 4 wickets
• India is the first country to have lost 2 Test series 5-0 (v/s England in 1959 and v/s WI in 1961-62)
• CG Borde(1),DK Gaekwad(4),Pankaj Roy(1) are the three Indian players to have lost all their Test matches as captain
• Mohammad Azharuddin has led the Indian team for the longest duration and is the most successful Indian captain ever
• Sunil Gavaskar and Mohd. Azharuddin have led India in the max. number of Test matches(47).
• Sunil Gavaskar has 34 Test centuries and ONLY 1 one day century.

• Saqlain Mushtaq holds the record for the fastest 100 wickets in one day internationals of just 53 matches

• The record for the highest score in a Test innings is 952 by Sri Lanka against India at Colombo on 6th August 1997
• Jayasuriya and Kaluwitharana's destructive opening batting was reffered to as the J&K effect

South Africa

• Lowest Test innings score - 30 vs. England (Port Elizabeth, 1896/96 and Birmigham, 1924)
• Hansie Cronje is the first captain to have admitted and punished for match fixing charges

West Indies

• Lowest Test innings score - 51 vs. Australia (Port of Spain, 1998/99)
• Desmond Haynes (148 v/s Aus at St. Johns Antigua) on 22-02-1978 has the highest score on debut in a ODI
• Desmond Haynes is the only batsman to carry his bat thrice in Test matches
• Desmond Haynes is the only batsman to score a century in his first and last one day innings
• Lawrence Rowe is the only WI player to score centuries in both innings of his first Test match
