Adore C.C penalised

The Kanto Cricket League Organising Committee has penalised the Adore C.C for transgression of its rules. The penalty will be in the form of deduction of 4 points the Adore has accumulated this far from their KCL campaign. The KCLOC found Adore guilty in two counts of not following the proper procedure in 'transfer of player' and 'registration of player'. Kanto Cup no more!

As part of the Japan Cricket Association's(JCA) initiative to streamline the competition structure in Japan, the Kanto Cup has been renamed to Kanto Cricket League(KCL) which will become a two-division league competition from 2002. This came about after a suggestion to Kanto Cup Organising Committee(KCOC) from JCA to that effect. The Kanto Cup Annual General Meeting held at YCAC early this year voted in favour of the suggestion and decided to disband itself. The newly named KCL will have 15 teams this year including six Japanese teams. The results of this year's comeptition will form the basis of Division Structure to be implemented next year. Top 7 teams will go to Division I and the rest will form Division II, next year with the bottom and top most teams of each Division swapping their places in the subsequent years.
